Have you also noticed a scratch line between the the tailgate & the lower section with scratches on that lower painted section? Have only so briefly been on unpaved (but incorporated) roads, but already the friction from fine sand has left a scratch line between the two sections?Gen. 1 R1S. I had an obnoxious rattle on the top of the dashboard. It only occured when the dash was hot from the sun and on rough roads. SS tried to fix but no luck. I noticed the rattle stopped if I pushed down on the grille where the grille and the leather dash meet. I purchased 5.00 mm black rubber hose from Amazon ( I think it is actually advertised as a fix for the Tesla sunroof wind noise). With the yellow tool that is included, I wedged the hose (patience, it is a tight fit) between the metal grille and the leather the full length of the dash. It is visibly unnoticable and worked perfectly. My guess is the grille expands and contracts with the weather just enough to rub and rattle.
(They didn’t consider the design as well as a 1970’s Range Rover).
Planning on sticking a strip of double sided neoprene, or rubber foam on the lower tailgate to protect the joint between the two.
