You should set the setting not to lock the doors at the HOME location; you can always lock it manually if you want to.

Off topic, but - The double-handle pull thing really catches everyone in my truck. I am used to it now but literally everyone I've ever had in it pulls once then looks at the door weird like they did something wrong.

I think I like it requiring a double-pull, prevents accidental opening. I guess very few other manufacturers must do that, since nobody (including me when I first got it) seems to be used to that.
My Chevy Bolt also has the double-pull for locked doors. Also, recall you can setup the Rivian to unlock all the doors when you put the R1 in park.

Trying to remember if my Defender or Velar did. I swear neither required a double-pull, and prior to that I'd been motorcycle-only for quite some time.

Not really sure how to search so found this topic. Here I am at a baseball game for my son and my daughter is using the hotspot for homework in the R1S. I didn't leave her my phone or a key fob. Will the ac, heat, hotspot, etc all just continue to work for her without a key or will it shut down at some point? (No pet mode etc). What about the outlets? If I left the interior lights on do they time out?

Funny how to figure out how these edge cases work when the car is never really "off" or "on" haha

Does she have a phone?

IME when something cuts off you will immediately receive a text complaining about it.

I've done literally this exact thing before, and everything stayed on for a few hours. This was last spring, so YMMV.

Haha yes she does.and yes I did get a text. Apparently the hotspot was on and off, but might have been the location. Seemed like the ac hung in there for the 2 hours

Somewhere in rivian someone has a backlog card with "have the vehicle provide.updates to owners with speed the speed of a unhappy teenage girl with a cellphone" .... And nobody is willing to pick up the card.
