I see you mentioned thunk noise in the service request. As a few others posted here, Iā€˜ve got clunking from the driverā€˜s front and rear suspension. Doesn’t seem like this would help, but did the ā€thunkā€ go away?

Clunk ain't a thunk! '42 Ford leaf springs don't lie.

I'm definitely adding that verbiage to my ticket for September repairs in Seattle, I can't wait for the phone call.

Interesting… so no new PNs, just a replacement of the current.
Under Cause, it specifically mentions updated parts.

ooo interesting. You’re right. So looks like a complete new PN in its first revision.

Hmm, I may put in a ticket for this..unsure if it'd be under warranty but my tailgate also catches (on the top) when opening and it bends it until it releases and makes a god awful snapping sound. It doesn't break, but the alignment is clearly not accurate..
I just had mobile service out last week to fix the tailgate catching/snapping. 3 days later it started again.

So this squeaking sound that all the early R1Ts seem to have, you think Rivian has a known fix with replacing the jounce lines, but they are keeping it on the down-low because literally everyone is going to demand this fix?

I know the sound doesn't pose any safety risk. It's not something failing, but man its annoying and very much due to poor engineering.

It’s not just early R1T’s. My 2024 R1T has squeaked since day one (it’s about 4 months old now). Rivian up until now has never really had a fix for the squeaks. I do remember that when the 2nd Gen vehicles were announced a few journalist made the point that the Gen2 suspension doesn’t squeak at all (Snazzylabs was someone who reported this). So I think Rivian finally figured out the squeaking. And now maybe the part redesign can be used on Gen1’s.

I sure hope so! Now, if we could only get into the Bellevue SC to do this.

I’ve got an appointment at the new Seattle SC next month! I’m going to chat with service support and see if I can have them add this to my ticket. Im curious to see what the SC says!

Best to target the Seattle SC. MUCH bigger and better throughput.

OP is the Seattle SC where you got the work done? That would be awesome if I could go next month and say, ā€œI know you’ve done this work here on a previous customers truck!ā€ Haha
