It's really just reiterating a line in the warranty guide.I was just at the service center and they reiterated what the Rivian Support line said - I still might be responsible for the cost of the repair even though the HV battery didn't die if there is a non warranty -able part which didn't make any sense to me.
I wouldn't put this much thought into it.
The original equipment 12-volt batteries that come with your Rivian are covered by a 3-year or 36,000-mile
(whichever occurs first) limited warranty. Defective batteries will be replaced at no cost during this warranty
period. 12-volt batteries may be damaged or drained if the vehicle is left unplugged for an extended time. 12-
volt batteries damaged or drained due to such improper maintenance are not covered under warranty.
