Totally confused by Connect+ rollout

I'm completely confused by the roll-out of Connect+
1) Yesterday I was blocked from media streaming (CNN) until I signed-up for Connect+. What happened to the free 2 month trial?
2) Will billing start now or in 2 months?
3) Does it include basic Tune-In or Tune-in Premium? If it is basic only, how do I upgrade to Tune-in Premium? What if I already have a Tune-in Premium account? How do I connect that?

You probably needed to do a reset. There is no current connect + subscription requirement….everyone has a 2 mo trial which was automatically downloaded and installed 2 updates ago.

What vehicle software are you running? It's possible the older versions before the Connect+ trial started are dumb and have a hardcoded date to end service if your vehicle is out of date.

What vehicle software are you running? It's possible the older versions before the Connect+ trial started are dumb and have a hardcoded date to end service if your vehicle is out of date.

Yeah, that version should be fine. It definitely knows about the Connect+ trial. Have you contacted support?

Essentially, yes. Connect+ is more or less the data plan for the vehicle itself. You can use your phone and tether and get most of the same functionality, but there are downsides.

You still need to pay for external services like Apple Music, Spotify, etc. and login to your own accounts on the vehicle even with Connect+

Yep. Really, think of Connect+ as a data plan for your truck. That's about it.

Well, for whatever reason, service was denied until I subscribed, but my first billing won't be until Oct 15

I do not think that you understand.

It is 2 separate and mostly unrelated things.

The connect+ trial doesn't include any media subscriptions.

Some (or possibly all) of the media services do offer free trials, but that is unrelated to connect+ (you can sign up for a free trial of Spotify whether you own a rivan or not)

Ummm no. most of the services has their own free trials but it doesnt have anything to do with connect plus.

I do not understand, that's why I said I was confused. I will say that I think I've had free connectivity since I purchased my R1T in 11/22. I think I've also been receiving Tune-In radio for free since that date. I've also been receiving Spotify, but I am a subscriber out side of rivian-sphere too.

For this conversation, it doesn't really matter, but the start of the Connect+ trial wasn't hard-coded to a specific date. I picked up a demo model today and the 60-day trial window for Connect+ started today, not a few weeks ago.
