My 12v outlet stopped working. Does anyone have a suggestion where I should start trouble shooting? The usb-c are working fine.

I would start by making sure it wasn’t my adapter or device by trying others. Then, if you rule that out I would check the fuse. This Reddit gives you a good overview:

I don't have a 12v outlet. First thing that came to mind, though, is whether power to it is tied to the setting for turning on the 120v outlets.

Did you recently install a software update?

According to Rivian no one uses the 12V outlets and that is why they deleted it from the design. Perhaps they decided it was time to delete the part of the software that controls the 12V outlets since very few cars were built with 12V outlets and they believe that no one uses them anyway.

Interesting theory. I haven’t used mine in a minute but I will try it out.

I use my under dash 12V every day for running USB power up to the MagSafe charger/mount I printed.

Yeah, we get that you're butt-sore about this, but no need to make up shit to just to get back at them for changing their vehicles over time. If a 12V outlet is soemthing you really want, there are a number of forum members who have posted detailed instructions for how you can add your own, either under the dash or in the frunk.

All my 12V outlets (frunk, under dash, gear tunnel, bed) still (!) work. First things to check are the same things you would check on an ICE vehicle if the 12V stopped working - check your device and check the fuse, like @COdogman said. If both of those are good, I would go on to check continuity between the 12V outlet and fuse box and the battery. Also check other things that are connected to the same fuse to see if they work. Could simply be the solder joint connecting the wire to the 12V outlet, or a pinched wire that eventually broke.

Nope - I am one of the people that Rivian would point to as evidence that 12v outlets aren't needed.

I don't actually think they would software remove it on purpose, but I wouldn't find it all that surprising if they software broke it on accident since there is a decent chance their test vehicles don't have 12V outlets and even if they do I doubt that checking if the 12V outlet still works is on their pre-launch checklist. They obviously don't check everything (see all of the bugs in every release) and this would probably be near the very bottom of any list of things to check.

It sounds like the OP tested the obvious things. So the less obvious ones are the next place. I don't have 12V outlets so I can't verify that they work. But if you have them and they are still working then that rules out a fleet-wide software error.

22 R1T LE, my phone mount/charger is plugged in here and it was charging my phone on the way to the service center this morning. I am on 2025.46.0/latest.

I have a weird variant of this question.

I have a phone charger plugged in to the 12V plug under my dash, and for several months it worked just fine.

Starting sometime after August, 2025 (I can't narrow down the time any more than that) the charger stopped charging my phone while driving, and in fact actively drains the phone while driving (I can loose a few percent charge on my phone in a ~30 min drive when plugged in to the charger). However, when parked, the charger works as expected.

I am stumped as to why the phone charges when the vehicle is parked but the circuit seems to be working in the opposite direction while driving.

Anyone else run into this situation? Thanks in advance.
