I wonder if this is a sign of a 12v battery near it's end of life...
my vehicle did this cycling about 6 months ago, no 12V warning, but service replaced 12V battery due to low voltage

Are the new replacement batteries the same as the old? I assume drain is the same since you have expressed your issues with drain too.

I do not know if there was a change in the 12v battery supplier when it was replaced.

When they replaced my 12v battery earlier this year, the wake sleep cycle reduced, I did see that it was increasing leading up to the last update, but now is excessive. The update may be stressing my 12V battery. I wonder if I have a BMS issue as well.

Sorry to hear this. I was wondering what with the latest update could contribute to increased drain. The only thing that came to mind was the power outlet update. A few days back I even checked to see if they were somehow toggled on but they weren’t. I still wonder if the power outlet change has something to do with it.

Or Camp Mode. I see an update with 2024.31.00, “If enabled, Car Wash mode now remains enabled after the vehicle sleeps” I did not check Camp Mode but is it enabled now?

I know, I know I’m fishing a bit.

One thing i noticed after the latest update, is my phone started to again trigger the proximity unlocking of the vehicle at home each time i walked near the car (even though i had set the proximity unlock at home to off several months ago, and post-update the setting was still showing turned off).

I cycled through turning on all the proximity locking features back to default and then setting it again to off at home, and that seemed to solved my phone from continually locking and unlocking the car each time i walked by the garage.

Just sharing that anecdote in case it is one of the sources of your perceived increased drain.

Increased drain here. Also trouble with home location. First it never thought I was home (even though garage opener prox worked), now the last few days it thinks I'm home and doesn't lock even when I'm out.

I've been losing 2% a day since the update - 2% a week before that. Gary got turned on automatically with the update but I turned him off at home with no change.

If they are not automatically lubricating the muffler bearings, there might be some data grabbing they are not telling us about - if you would like to generate a conspiracy theory.

my Quad R1s ' VD also has been increased to 2% or more a day now. My DM R1T on the other hand is in deep sleep mode forever and lost nothing even parking in the hot texas heat outside.

I am losing 2% plus, but wondering if part of this is because when the truck sits outside during the day and inside temp gets too high I get a notice that fans are running to protect the screens, which i had not been getting before that i recall.

I seem to have slightly greater vampire drain after installing the latest update and have seen a couple of posts from others who are seeing the same thing. I wounder if this is real or simply apparent, and if the latter, how widespread it may be.

I did not really track VD pre-update, but it seemed to be in the 1% to 2% range, averaging closer to 1% over 24 hours. Post-update, the floor now seems to be 2% per day. I've only recently started to log things however, and will post the information when I get more than a few days worth of data points.
I've been gone 13 days, vampire drain was 27 miles, or just over 2 miles per day, while awaking & checking only once while away.

That's terrific; on the order of 1.0kWh per day, and well below 1%. I'd love to be anywhere near that neighborhood.

If a Gen 1 vehicle, did you install the 2024.27.01 update before you left or is your Rivian still on the earlier version?

That was after R1T (gen 1) 2024.27.01, in garage in 80f weather, gear guard off. Not sure about the AC. I didn't awaken it but once in the 13 days.

I left for a one week vacation on Saturday, 8/24. Never left it for longer than one day without driving somewhere. Charged completed to 70% at 2am 8/24. As of today, 8/27 at 9:30am down to 61%. 80 hours +/- have lost 9%. Hope to stay above 50% when I get home this saturday.

Vampire drain definitely increased since update. Used to lose 2% max in 24 hours previously.
