My RIT has this disturbing wind noise from driver side at speeds above 50 mph .
3 separate service requests over 6 months ( because of time it takes to get an appointment and time to attend on the vehicle takes so long!). They report it’s been fixed on paper, but it still persists.
I am frustrated because they are not diagnosing and correcting it.
How do I proceed with next steps?

There’s lots of things the SC can’t seem to fix. If it’s that bothersome I’d just sell it and move on.

it’s just a loud car. it’s a big and boxy front end. you may want to think about selling the car if it bothers you a lot.
Not really with regard to wind noise. Mine has very low wind noise...on par with many Acura and Lexus I have had over the years. Now suspension....that is a different story. But if yours and OP have wind noise....something isn't right.

I can total relate to how this is annoying on any vehicle much less one at this price point.

Try using a painters tape to tape up seams on driver side. Until you eliminate the wind noise. Once you do, each day remove one section until the noise comes back. Hopefully should isolate where it's coming from.

Other option is sell the vehicle of course. Unfortunately service is limited in how much time they can spend diagnosing these types of issues (NVH) and they are slammed right now. Not making excuses just stating the current situation.

Wind noise is tricky to pin down in any vehicle. Given how quiet EVs are compared to ICE vehicles it seems like we notice so many more sounds of all types when driving. Others here have had some luck with service being able to fix the issue, but I’d say it’s not successful even more often. If you can do some diagnosing and determine specifically where it is coming from it might help convince them to do more.

Can you describe the noise?

We had a whistle sound that we only heard at speeds >50 mph and spent hours taping trim trying to localize it.

It turned out it was the HVAC system and only happened when air recirculation was active.

I have a similar problem and SC said it was normal. My LR did not have this but some of my friends with other SUVs are saying that it's normal so I'm "putting up with" it for now. Search this forum. I recall a great fix that seemed to work. If this is your only issue-don't sell it.

Had a similar issue with my Model 3. Except I was able to take it to different service centers until one of them sorta fixed it. Still ended up trading it for a model y. If it's bothering you, sell your vehicle.

Exactly! Be proactive and find the source of noise. Help the service center help you with this info.

Don't sell it, but also don't accept that it is normal. My interior cabin wind noise dropped 10dB after a mobile service visit. Tech shoved a square peice of foam about the size of a dime into the driver triangle window and has been good ever since. I'm sure the SC already tried that but it is certainly possible to fix.
Agreed with above, do some testing and find the precise location then chase Rivian. (Or come back here for a solution)

My 2022 R1T has the same issues. The culprit turns out to be a improperly mounted quarter window and a poorly manufactured Sideview mirror (all on the driver's side) that has a gap which in turn produces a whistling noise. The quarter window and seal was eventually replaced and the side mirror repaired to fix that gap. This is a well known issues with early build R1Ts, per the mobile technician. Pass this info onto the SC to see if this helps refresh their memory :p
Good luck and keep us posted!
(The picture is from my 2023 R1T not the troubled child 2022 R1T ? )
