I was recently exploring my trailer hitch and found a jack point cap. After popping the jack point cap out I found it was attached to a two wire harness. What are these two wires for? See pics.

I did a double-take on this, as I thought it was the same person that re-posted for some crazy reason.

Nope, there was just a whole other thread on the same subject started on Monday from a completely different person.

I think I'm loosing my mind...

Back in the day, I mod'ed/ran a couple of android forums. We would either move the thread into an existing convo or post a link to the previous same convo and lock the thread. Saved a lot of frustration.

I am fascinated and saddened by the fact that people will spend $100k on a vehicle and can't be bothered to read the manual. I've had people tell me they never knew about a feature of their own vehicle.

Well, there's a social element to "learning together," that doesn't exist if all we do is RTFM. In general I like to think that I read the manuals (at least to some extent) but some things don't register at the time, and others I might forget. Whatever the reason, I've learned a lot from reading these forums almost every day since I got my R1S three years ago. Let's not be too harsh on OP. I hope never to have to use that jump-start capability, but I'm glad it's there, and his post reminded me that it is.

"I read the manual and would like to clarify/discuss XYZ."

That is NOT "I couldn't be bothered to read so here's this problem."

One is a detriment to the forums, the other is exactly what they are for. I'm involved in a lot of tech forums, as well as running one, and the persistent "I didn't do any research at all" questions are destructive. The people with the best answers get driven out.

Ok, now I have to admit this is bizarre.

So true. 3D printing forums/groups are particularly bad. A noob posts a question they could have easily found a gazillion discussions about ("Should I use Glue Stick?") and then a free for all of criticism, bad advice and counterpoint posts follows. I rarely visit or post in 3D forums anymore.
